Season of Many Santas

We tried SEVERAL times over the holiday season to get a good picture with Santa...here are a couple of our tries! Maybe next year when he is a big brother he will have to show little brother how it is done...or maybe not!! HA! I didn't even buy any of the pics from the visit to the Santa at the Mall cause it was a total bust!!

Season of Many Christmas Celebrations

For those of you that don't know much about our family; we have SIX (yes you read that right, SIX!) Christmas Celebrations! This can make for two very tired parents and one exceptionally cranky and tired little boy!! I think that last year it took us all two or three days to recover and this year has been no exception!! We have been talking about implementing a more "family friendly schedule" and have yet to figure out how to do this without upsetting family! I think that we have come to the conclusion that it might not be the popular thing to do but will be what we have to do for the sanity of Steve, Angela, Teeghun and "Baby T". We will keep you posted on our plans but know that something will have to change for 2008 as we will have two little ones!!

We started our Christmas Celebration Tour with mom's on Dec. 16th; then Kreiger's on December 22nd; Bills Christmas on December 23rd, followed by Dad's Christmas on December 24th for brunch and Miller Christmas for dinner. We celebrated Christmas with the three of us on Christmas morning. The final Christmas of the year was the Gordon Christmas on Christmas afternoon. We have established the tradition of attending the Christmas Eve service at The Chapel so we have to miss the "official" Miller Christmas but were able to spend several hours with most of the family earlier in the day. Steve's nephew (Andy) and his wife (Angie) surprised us with a visit from Santa! The kids were all going crazy and couldn't believe that Santa had come to Grandma's house!! Teeghun wasn't so sure and it took about 20 minutes for him to warm-up to Santa but we finally did get some pictures of him close to Santa (a victory in my book)!!

Here is a picture of all of us at Sycamore; we were supposed to have brunch with Santa on December 16th, but that is the Sunday that we got all the snow and Allen County issued a snow emergency so we had to reschedule. Teeghun still wasn't too sure about Santa (notice the grip on Steve's sweater) but he did let us all gather to take a picture...

Gingerbread Festivel here we come...

Sooo, we decided that we would try making and decorating gingerbread houses with Sally, Terry, Morgan & Chelsea...it turned out to be an interesting evening, but the end product turned out pretty good! We of course are already planning for next year, maybe a trip to the Gingerbread Festival will help inspire our creativity!!

SNOW EMERGENCY

Sunday we were blessed (??) with a Level 2 Snow Emergency, we had been to church and were headed home when they declared it. We spent much quality family time together on Sunday and of course had to go outside and play in the snow. Teeghun is getting more brave and was even falling off the sled just to fall off. He even wanted to pull the sled around the backyard himself.

Ready for sledding

Dada what do you mean you are tired??

Pulling the sled

Really, I am not cold

After the sledding we had lunch and for dessert we had cupcakes that were decorated like snowmen, Teeghun's had a black hat and black scarf...here is the result of the hat and scarf

Santa & His Reindeer Visit the Zoo

Before mom's Christmas on Saturday we went to the Santa & His Reindeer Visit the Zoo program. We did this last year and it was a bit too advanced for Teeghun, but this year he seemed to enjoy it more. Here is as close to Santa as Teeghun would get, he did give him several "high fives" (as long as mommy was holding him).

Memaw's Christmas

My mom is awesome!! She plans her Christmas not according to the calendar but according to schedules of those involved, which allows for less stress and much more time to relax and enjoy the gathering instead of being in a hurry because there are more to attend that day. We celebrate Christmas with my mom the Saturday or Sunday before Christmas and it makes it soooo nice! THANKS mom, you don't know how much your flexibility is appreciated!! We celebrated with mom last Saturday and below are some pictures from the celebration. I think that Teeghun enjoyed passing out the presents as much as opening and delivered every present to the correct person! He even stood when he was all done and thanked each person individually! Thanks to everyone for the great gifts!!!

Unwrapping presents (much more into it this year)

Baby Boy Miller Names

We are stumped!! All along we have planned to name Baby Boy Miller with a name that begins with "T" (and use Steven as the middle name) but we aren't having much luck on a name. So, here is your chance...We have created a poll for you to vote on the one that you like best...

Take the poll and we will post the results on January 1, 2008...Of course you all realize that this doesn't mean that you are naming our baby just telling us what you can and cannot stand....Feel free to leave comments to this post with other suggestions...at this point we are COMPLETELY open to suggestions!!!

Cookies & Milk with Santa

The Chapel (our church) hosted the 2nd Annual "Cookies & Milk with Santa" this morning for infants and preschool children. They had the foyer decorated really cute! When we arrived we were given a jingle bell to ring to welcome Santa; who arrived shortly after being pulled in a wagon by a golf cart. His arrival was complete with elves and SNOW! It was really cool (at least from an adult's viewpoint!!)!!! After Santa arrived Teeghun clung to me the rest of the morning!! Yes, that is right he is still not a fan of Santa (and we are doing this three times this weekend!!). The kids got to decorate cookies, color pictures, sit on Santa's lap (NOT TEEGHUN), go to the other foyer to see the nativity animals (donkey, two day old baby goats and two sheep) and also hear the Christmas Story. The animals were the biggest hit for Teeghun...the above picture is the only one that really turned out from this morning and I think that it is adorable!! (Perhaps I am a bit biased!!)

Tomorrow we head to the zoo for Santa & his Reindeer visit the zoo....more tomorrow!!

Paint Dobbers

Teeghun does a lot of crafts at Little Praisers and one of the things that they told us he likes to do is use the paint dobbers (bingo dobbers) so we picked up some for him to use at home. They are right he does love to use them. They are supposed to be washable but there were still traces of it on his hands...and nose...

I also got him on video showing us the parts of his body that he can easily identify!! At the end of the video you will see him touch his nose again and then when I shut off the camera he took the bingo dobber and touched it to his nose...

This is what happens when you touch the dobber to your nose!!! HA!

Snuggling with the Snowman

Saturday night we went to the musical at The Chapel, for those who haven't been there it is decorated amazingly! They have trees all over the place and the Kids Connection area is decorated with really cute blow-up decorations and this stuffed snowman. Teeghun fell in love with the snowman and had to kiss and hug him several times!!

He was also quite fond of this blow-up nativity...

Christmas Cookies

We have a friend in Sunday School class whose sister makes these awesome Christmas cookies (after seeing them you will agree that I couldn't make them this good :) so we ordered three dozen; two dozen to take to Teeghun's daycare class and an extra dozen for home...These cookies are amazing and the pictures probably won't do them justice! They are REALLY thick and some are probably over 2" tall!!! I am pretty sure that this won't be a one time order!!

Family Pictures - What an ORDEAL!!

We did family and Christmas pictures over the weekend, I have yet to figure out a simpler way to complete this process without Teeghun melting down or Mommy & Daddy melting down! HA! We have even tried several different studios...each and every time it seems to take at least 2 hours; please tell me that there is someone else out there that can relate!!! We spent almost 30-45 minutes taking the pictures (I think that I was up and down on the floor about a dozen times which is not very nice to someone who is pregnant!!) and over an hour trying to convince the photographer that we really only needed what we were ordering and NOTHING more. We did purchase a package that will give us the copyright's to the pictures so that is great cause we can just print our own pictures!!

I will post some of these pictures AFTER Christmas as some of the family is getting them as gifts and I don't want to ruin them getting to see them before they unwrap them!

I will post one just as a teaser

He only looks innocent
Steve went to check on Teeghun on Sunday morning as he was sleeping in; this was how he found him. The picture is a little blurry but I still like it, we find him in some of the strangest sleeping positions!!

More Snow Fun

Are you sure that this is supposed to be fun??

Ok you are right, this is fun!!!

ALL DONE!! COLD and Ready to go inside!

Teeghun playing in the snow!

Last year Teeghun wasn't too sure about the snow, we took him out once but he just cried and hung onto me; so I was all excited to try it again this year. Thankfully he stayed outside longer than it took to get all his warm clothes on!! I guess that this is one time when I can be glad that he isn't potty trained and having to go potty as soon as we got outside! He loved playing in the snow and was even starting to throw it a bit before we went inside. I am looking forward to doing some snow painting and maybe building a snowman this winter!!
