July 2010

I am catching up...slowly by surely I am getting there!!!

July was another fun month for the Miller's. There always seems to be something fun going on.

We celebrated July 4th but still didn't try fireworks. The boys wouldn't even touch sparklers so I figured fireworks were out of the question!!! The Chapel does an awesome Patriotic Service each July 4th weekend. This year they had firetrucks and the Lutheran Air Helicopter for the kids to visit. Bob Sinacola from our old Sunday School class flies the helicopter so the boys were super excited to see him and get to see the helicopter up close. Every time either of the medical helicopters flies over our house they both yell "Mr. Bob! Mr. Bob!"

The Three Rivers Festival is in Fort Wayne in July and we love to go visit the "junk food alley", this year we also went to the parade. It is VERY crowded but a good parade.

We all went to a TinCaps game together this year. It was a VERY HOT evening for a baseball game but everyone seemed to have a great time! It was the boys first game of the season and there is always so much to see that they lasted a lot longer than we expected that they would.

July ended with one of Angie's favorite times of the year, the Whitley County 4-H Fair! The boys seem to enjoy it also and we went back several times.

June 2010

June was a fun month for us.
We started the boys at "Miss Pam's House" for childcare and it has been WONDERFUL! She loves the boys sooo much and takes great care of them! Her son Scott helps her and that is great!!

We also spent a lot of time at the zoo in June, we love the zoo and try to spend as much time there as we can. Now that we are living in Columbia City it isn't as convenient to just head there after work, but we still try to make it there frequently.

June was also Father's Day and I cannot believe that I cannot find one single picture taken of Steve and the boys on Father's Day...note to self, work on that!!!

Old Settler's came to town in June and Teeghun was sooo excited! As you can see from the video Ellee wasn't quite as sure!

June also meant the opening of our pool and what a fun time that was. The boys both loved to be in the pool and it was a great place to make lots of fun memories!!

May 2010

May finds us celebrating Mother's Day. Teeghun became a part of The Chapel Cherub choir and they always sing on Mother's Day so that was neat.

Teeghun also participated in a "Teddy Bear Picnic" at Little Praisers, the kids all brought in a stuffed animal from home and they had a picnic in their classroom.

We as a family walked in the Cancer Free Lungs walk at Headwater's Park in memory of Uncle Dan and also Trisha's dad. It was a beautiful day and a neat way to remember those lost to lung cancer.

May 28th was a sad day for our family as we said good-bye to the staff and friends at Little Praisers. Teeghun has been there since he was three months old and Tanner joined Teeghun when he was about six weeks old. The staff at Little Praisers as been a very close part of our family for over four years and we love them dearly!

We ended the month of May by celebrating Memorial Day. Steve and the boys put out flags and we explained to them that this is a day to honor those who have fought for our freedom and to remember them.

April

Somehow I lost another entire month. I could blame it on Facebook, which I seem to update much more frequently but I could also blame it on laziness. I want this blog to be something the boys can look back on and treasure, but I am through making "goals to keep it updated", I will do my best and nothing less!!

April was Easter and lots of fun spent playing outside!! We LOVE LOVE to be outside!!! We are celebrating our first spring in our new house. Teeghun and Tanner were pleased that the Easter Bunny was able to locate our house since we had moved!! The boys got to participate in three different Easter Egg hunts. Ellee and Carter along with Uncle Drew, Aunt Trisha and Memaw went to Solomon Farms with us for one of them. Solomon is a great egg hunt because they limit the number of participants so it isn't chaotic!

We also focused more on Easter and what it meant that Jesus died on the cross for our sins. Teeghun talked about how at Little Praisers they were learning about what the three crosses were symbols of, it was touching to hear him tell us the story of Easter.

Happy 4th Birthday TEEGHUN

Wow! Four years old already? Mommy can hardly believe that just four short years ago you were born, it seems like only yesterday!!

You are developing into quite a smart little guy!! You love your little brother and you are such a good big brother to him! You are so caring and so concerned about him all the time, but you two can still put up quite a good fight with each other when you want to also!!!

You love your preschool and your teacher's Miss Debbie, Miss Jennifer, Miss Emily and Miss Becky. You have learned a lot in the last year, you know all your letters, can count to at least 30, and know too many songs to name them all!

This year we did two birthday parties a small one with friends and a bigger one for all your friends from the preschool. This year we just decided to invite all the boys in your class, but had to include Jillian because you two are best buddies!!!

Happy birthday my handsome prince! Mommy loves you so very much!!

Happy 2nd Birthday!!

Tanner Bananer!
Where have the last two years gone? I cannot believe that you are two years old already!!! It seems like just yesterday that I was holding you in my arms for the first time! You bring so much joy and laughter into our lives, Teeghun loves having you for his little brother and playmate! You love to sing your ABCs and count to ten, you even know some of your colors! I love it when you bring me a book to read and we snuggle on the couch looking for Elmo, Zoe, Cookie Monster and Grouch. I love that you love to pray and ask all the time to pray! Keep that desire as you grow older. We look forward to celebrating many more birthdays with you! I love you!!

Happy Valentine's Day

We gathered at "Kreiger Manor" for Valentine's Day with the normal Sunday Supper Crew and included Uncle Dan and Aunt Tam. Uncle Dan is battling lung cancer which has spread to his bones, but he was having a really good day! Memaw got all the grandkids "fun sunglasses" and they actually left them on for several pictures! GG even got in a couple of the pictures and I love the laughter in the one picture!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day!!!

One Week Pasa (pacifier) Free!

Tanner has been "pasa" free for a week!! We are so pleased with how well he has done. We took Teehgun's away just before Tanner was born and had decided to take Tanner's away on his 2nd birthday. Steve started early and we have done pretty good. I actually think that it was harder for me than Tanner, just another sign that he is growing up and isn't my little baby anymore. Next stop...potty training.

Where's Teeghun??

This is how we find Teeghun most nights when I check on him...can you find him? He surrounds himself with "floppy dog" (a dog almost bigger than him that Tanner gave "big brother" when Tanner was born), his fleece blanket and numerous other stuffed animals.

December 2009

What a crazy busy month December was for us! We had Lady Eagle basketball games, Breakfast at the Manger, Cousin Kady's birthday party, Santa & Mrs. Clause visited Aunt Tami in Hamilton, then there were the SEVEN Family Christmas celebrations! WOW! What a month! We survived and enjoyed all the time we got to spend with family and celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ.

November 2009

November found us spending as much time outside as we possibly could. We started off the month of November walking in my uncle's woods. He has a nice path mowed down through it and the kids loved crunching in the leaves and picking up "treasures". We also spent time in Indianapolis going to the Indianapolis Zoo and the Children's Museum. We loved the Museum and will definitely be going back there again, this was the second or third time we had been to the zoo and enjoy it also. The weather was beautiful that weekend and we even got away without wearing any jackets at all. We hosted Thanksgiving for the Miller side of the family and really enjoyed getting to finally host a family gathering. We wrapped up the month of November by hosting the Landrigan family for an evening. Jack & Christy have four adorable children and the boys had a great time playing with them.

October 2009

I am going back and creating a separate post or slide show from October, November and December of 2009 to show some of the highlights from the last couple months...

October found Tanner getting his first haircut but I featured that in the previous post so I will just post a slide show of our trips to the Great Zoo Halloween and the pumpkin carving and pizza party we hosted.

Enjoy

Happy New Year!!

Wow 2010 already!?!?!
This year my New Year's Resolution is to update this blog more frequently. I started this blog as a way to create a memory for Teeghun and Tanner as I didn't really keep baby books for either of them. When I look back and see that I am not updating it very frequently it makes me sorta sad; so I am hoping to update it much more often this year.

We had a wonderful Christmas season, we survived all SEVEN Family Christmas Celebrations (YES SEVEN!!!). It was great to get to spend time with all the family and even got to snuggle on some new babies in the Kreiger (Carter Russell Jagger) and Bills (Carter Ford Bills) families.

We celebrated our first Christmas in our new house and it was WONDERFUL!! It is like a dream come true to be back living in the country and living right next to family. We love it. I am not so sure that Steve loves the sound of the howling wind and the snow blowing across the field though.

Here are a couple pictures of the boys from the last couple months...

GO STEELERS!!!!

Tanner's First Hair Cut
Tanner had a lot of hair a lot sooner than Teeghun ever did so we had his first hair cut done by Sally Hinen because she does my hair and Tanner was born on her birthday so we figured it only fitting :) Here is a slideshow of the first haircut. He did NOT want to sit in the chair alone so daddy held him (hey, I had to take the pictures :) and they were both covered in hair when it was all over!!
