Season of Many Santas

We tried SEVERAL times over the holiday season to get a good picture with Santa...here are a couple of our tries! Maybe next year when he is a big brother he will have to show little brother how it is done...or maybe not!! HA! I didn't even buy any of the pics from the visit to the Santa at the Mall cause it was a total bust!!

Season of Many Christmas Celebrations

For those of you that don't know much about our family; we have SIX (yes you read that right, SIX!) Christmas Celebrations! This can make for two very tired parents and one exceptionally cranky and tired little boy!! I think that last year it took us all two or three days to recover and this year has been no exception!! We have been talking about implementing a more "family friendly schedule" and have yet to figure out how to do this without upsetting family! I think that we have come to the conclusion that it might not be the popular thing to do but will be what we have to do for the sanity of Steve, Angela, Teeghun and "Baby T". We will keep you posted on our plans but know that something will have to change for 2008 as we will have two little ones!!

We started our Christmas Celebration Tour with mom's on Dec. 16th; then Kreiger's on December 22nd; Bills Christmas on December 23rd, followed by Dad's Christmas on December 24th for brunch and Miller Christmas for dinner. We celebrated Christmas with the three of us on Christmas morning. The final Christmas of the year was the Gordon Christmas on Christmas afternoon. We have established the tradition of attending the Christmas Eve service at The Chapel so we have to miss the "official" Miller Christmas but were able to spend several hours with most of the family earlier in the day. Steve's nephew (Andy) and his wife (Angie) surprised us with a visit from Santa! The kids were all going crazy and couldn't believe that Santa had come to Grandma's house!! Teeghun wasn't so sure and it took about 20 minutes for him to warm-up to Santa but we finally did get some pictures of him close to Santa (a victory in my book)!!

Here is a picture of all of us at Sycamore; we were supposed to have brunch with Santa on December 16th, but that is the Sunday that we got all the snow and Allen County issued a snow emergency so we had to reschedule. Teeghun still wasn't too sure about Santa (notice the grip on Steve's sweater) but he did let us all gather to take a picture...

Gingerbread Festivel here we come...

Sooo, we decided that we would try making and decorating gingerbread houses with Sally, Terry, Morgan & Chelsea...it turned out to be an interesting evening, but the end product turned out pretty good! We of course are already planning for next year, maybe a trip to the Gingerbread Festival will help inspire our creativity!!

SNOW EMERGENCY

Sunday we were blessed (??) with a Level 2 Snow Emergency, we had been to church and were headed home when they declared it. We spent much quality family time together on Sunday and of course had to go outside and play in the snow. Teeghun is getting more brave and was even falling off the sled just to fall off. He even wanted to pull the sled around the backyard himself.

Ready for sledding

Dada what do you mean you are tired??

Pulling the sled

Really, I am not cold

After the sledding we had lunch and for dessert we had cupcakes that were decorated like snowmen, Teeghun's had a black hat and black scarf...here is the result of the hat and scarf

Santa & His Reindeer Visit the Zoo

Before mom's Christmas on Saturday we went to the Santa & His Reindeer Visit the Zoo program. We did this last year and it was a bit too advanced for Teeghun, but this year he seemed to enjoy it more. Here is as close to Santa as Teeghun would get, he did give him several "high fives" (as long as mommy was holding him).

Memaw's Christmas

My mom is awesome!! She plans her Christmas not according to the calendar but according to schedules of those involved, which allows for less stress and much more time to relax and enjoy the gathering instead of being in a hurry because there are more to attend that day. We celebrate Christmas with my mom the Saturday or Sunday before Christmas and it makes it soooo nice! THANKS mom, you don't know how much your flexibility is appreciated!! We celebrated with mom last Saturday and below are some pictures from the celebration. I think that Teeghun enjoyed passing out the presents as much as opening and delivered every present to the correct person! He even stood when he was all done and thanked each person individually! Thanks to everyone for the great gifts!!!

Baby Boy Miller Names

We are stumped!! All along we have planned to name Baby Boy Miller with a name that begins with "T" (and use Steven as the middle name) but we aren't having much luck on a name. So, here is your chance...We have created a poll for you to vote on the one that you like best...

Take the poll and we will post the results on January 1, 2008...Of course you all realize that this doesn't mean that you are naming our baby just telling us what you can and cannot stand....Feel free to leave comments to this post with other suggestions...at this point we are COMPLETELY open to suggestions!!!
